License Restoration For First DUI Conviction

If the suspension is a result of an arrest for DUI in Connecticut or any
other state, the duration of suspension is one year from the effective
date of suspension.

Note:  If the operator was under 18 years of age on the date of the arrest,
the duration of suspension is one year from the effective date of
suspension or until the date of the operator's 18th birthday, whichever is
longer.

The following steps must be completed before your license can be
restored:
Submit a check or money order in the amount of $125 payable to "DMV."
If the suspension is a result of an arrest for DUI in Connecticut, the
Substance Abuse Treatment Program, approved by the Commissioner
of Motor Vehicles, must be completed before the license can be
restored. Contact one of the following providers that conduct the
program for DMV promptly as the minimum period of participation is
approximately nine months.

When eligible for restoration, please provide any necessary documents
and payments at least two weeks prior to your eligibility date (check or
money order should be made payable to "DMV") through the mail to the
following address:

Note:  Please clearly print your name, current address and date of birth
on all correspondence. You cannot operate a motor vehicle until you
receive an official notice from the Department of Motor Vehicles
informing you that the restoration has been processed.
